Director of the Institute for NanoEnergy at the University of Houston and physics professor, Seamus Curran, has developed a new coating that can be applied to solar panels to make them easier to clean and stay clean for a longer period of time. Curran used the coating on his solar powered “Storm Cell”, a generator that acts in the same way as a diesel generator, but without the harmful emissions and loud noise. It is estimated that solar panels can loose as much as 30 percent of their efficiency when they’re dirty. [Read more...]
