10 Benefits of Being an Avid Reader

So, you probably know that reading lots of books is a good thing, right? But do you know why? Most of us have just taken our parents/teachers/old people’s advice about it all, but here are ten solid reasons why loving to read is a great thing:

Vocabulary

A grandiose lexicon can help portray oneself as an astute individual (Or, knowing big words can make you sound smart). One of the best places to find new words is through reading books—lots and lots of books. You never know when you’ll pick up a word that you’ve never heard before, and you never know when that word might come in handy. What To Do When You Think You Are Losing Inspiration

Let’s face it—college is hard work. You spend your whole childhood dreaming about the day that you’ll finish high school and be free from the chains of education, and then you realize that you’ll probably have to go to college in order to do that thing that you want to do when you grow up.
