How Will The DREAM Act Affect Higher Education?

Last week, President Barack Obama made what some are calling a “landmark move” in the world of both immigration and education. He issued an executive order that will help to back the initial foundations of a federal version of the DREAM Act, a bill aimed at providing citizenship for the children of undocumented immigrants in the US.

For several years, political and activist figures have been pushing for this law to be passed. One notable supporter is former Bush-era cabinet member Colin Powell, who has long since supported a regulation to help and protect children of illegal immigrants who have been both raised and education on American soil.
