Antioch University New England was originally designed to not just teach the classic and traditional subjects, but to add to that by putting an emphasis on modern history and literature and science and the scientific method. Its first campus was founded in 1964 and has spread to various parts of the US. Recently Antioch University has extended its curriculum to distance students through an online program.
The various levels of certification include master’s degrees, post-masters certificates, doctor’s degrees and Post-baccalaureate certificates.
Over the years, Antioch University has offered its students online forums for discussions outside of class and the ability to download documents and other resources. AUNE has put in place an online management system, Sakai, to deliver a quality online learning environment. This system uses a mix of assignments and participation in forums to follow the student’s progress in the course. For some lecturers, AUNE utilizes different types of technology, such as Skype to deliver lectures.
For students who need financial aid with furthering their studies, AUNE has staff available to help you through the application process. This requires the filling of some forms, such as the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA.) that can be done online. For the price of tuition, visit the Antioch University website or call the university directly.
Antioch University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. All degree programs are also approved by the New Hampshire Postsecondary Commission.
